August 11, 2020

Morgantown, WV – The Taylor County Charitable Interest Fund (TCCIF), a fund of Your Community Foundation of North Central West Virginia, Inc. (YCF) is currently accepting applications from nonprofit organizations serving Taylor County.  Eligible organizations include qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofits or public institutions operating in Taylor County, including public schools.  Grants of up to $500 will be made.

Applications are available online at www.ycfwv.org and are due by September 18, 2020.  Awards will be announced and distributed in November.

The TCCIF is a permanently endowed fund to support the cultural, social, educational and economic needs within the county and improve the quality of life for Taylor County residents. Grant applications are accepted annually and reviewed by a committee of volunteers from Taylor County.  To-date, 19 grants totaling $6,445 have been awarded. Some of the organizations that have received grants in the past include Grafton City Hospital Auxiliary, Grafton-Taylor County Health Department, Homestead Farm Center, Taylor County Family Resources, Taylor County Middle School, and various church-sponsored backpack feeding programs.

Donations are collected in various ways. Last year payroll deductions were set up for the employees of the Taylor County Board of Education to make it easy for them to contribute. Employees wishing to enroll can contact the BOE Treasurer’s office. Individuals may also donate to the TCCIF, by mailing a check made payable to YCF to P.O. Box 409, Morgantown, WV 26507, and please include “TCCIF” in the check’s memo line.  Alternatively, donations may be made online at www.ycfwv.org. Please note donations will only be used to benefit Taylor County.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors of TCCIF, I would like to thank all of our donors,” said Judy Collett, TCCIF President. “Since the fund was established in 2008 by our founder, Sally Harman, we have supported many Taylor County organizations and teachers with additional monies to complete essential projects for our community members and children. We will be able to help many more as our fund increases.”
