Job Description: The Program Associate reports to the Vice President and is a key professional role at YCF, serving as an essential member of the team. The position requires versatility, initiative, and cross-training. The Program Assistant will provide administrative and operational support with the grant and scholarship programs, event planning and execution, marketing, grant writing, and special projects as assigned. The position requires thoughtful written and verbal communication with donors and volunteers and is charged with responsibilities that are intended to grow in content and complexity over time.

Key Responsibilities:
• Grant Program Support
– Provide administrative and operational support for all aspects of managing the grant application processes utilizing Foundant’s Grant Lifecycle Manager (GLM)
– Coordinate grant review activities by providing technical assistance, generating reports, and supporting committees, staff, and leadership
• Scholarship Program Support
– Provide administrative and coordination support for scholarship programs using Foundant’s Scholarship Lifecycle Manager (SLM)
– Assist with initial application setup, technical support for all users, community communication, committee coordination, recognition, and long-term tracking of renewable awards
• Respond to general inquiries from nonprofit organizations and individuals regarding the grantmaking and scholarship programs
• Stewardship of distributions, including planning and communication with donors regarding grantmaking and scholarships
• Represent YCF in meetings with organizations seeking grants and grantees
• Support new grantmaking projects, including conceptualizing new programs, writing funding proposals, and building collaborative relationships with colleagues in the field, volunteers, and          community members, including potential donors.
• Assist in the development of content for YCF’s publications and web-based information
• Event Planning related to scholarship and grant awards
• Participate in weekly staff meetings
• Occasionally attend out-of-office activities, including conferences, meetings, programs, and special events, representing YCF
• Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• 3 years minimum professional work experience
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel
• Excellent written and communication skills, especially with editing, proofreading, and attention to detail
• Ability to respond in a timely manner to sensitive internal and external inquiries
• Ability to honor confidentiality
• Demonstrated interest in and engagement with nonprofit organizations
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Comfortable working independently and equally committed to collaboration with a small, fast-paced team that is respectful of and attentive to deadlines
• Detail-oriented, adaptable, and eager to learn
• Preferred but not mandatory: Experience with grantmaking or scholarship selection processes, Foundant Community Suite software, and nonprofits

Compensation: The pay rate is $28 per hour. Experience and expertise will be considered. There are no benefits available for the part-time position.
