The Women’s Giving Circle of North Central West Virginia, a component fund of YCF, will announce its 2019 grant recipients at a ceremony on December 5.
“YCF received more than 50 applications from many important nonprofit organizations,” said Dr. Ranjit Majumder, chair of the YCF community grant committee. “Each organization serves our community in a unique and significant way. This year, most of the grants focus on health and social services, while others support education, arts and culture, and recreation.”
“We congratulate all the grant recipients on their outstanding efforts,” said YCF president, Patty Showers Ryan. During the 2019 community grant cycle, nonprofits requested more than $400,000.
Several donor advisors utilize YCF’s competitive grant application process. “Donors want to support meaningful community projects,” said Ryan. “YCF assists with the due diligence, such as verifying an organization’s charitable status and reviewing its financials.”
November 15 is National Philanthropy Day. “To acknowledge this special day, we are awarding grants while providing nonprofits the opportunity to share details about their donor-funded programs,” said Ryan.
The YCF Community Grant Program is supported, in part, by the YCF IMPACT Fund, which was established to respond to local community needs. “Additional donations from our community members are always welcome to boost the grant dollars awarded,” said Ryan.
