Your Community Foundation of North Central West Virginia, Inc. (YCF) is now accepting grant applications for the 2018 Taylor County Community Funds (TCCF).
Eligible to receive the grants of $500 or less are Taylor County organizations with 501(c)3 status, local units of government and tax-exempt or non-profit charitable organizations. The deadline for applications is July 15.
“For the past six years we have been pleased to award grants totaling $3,500 to several deserving organizations in the Taylor County Community, and we’re looking forward to receiving another round of applications again this year,” said Sally Harman, President of TCCF. “It’s our mission to help worthy organizations in the county and to improve the quality of life for our citizens.”
Online applications are available through YCF at www.ycfwv.org.
TCCF was chartered in 2008 to support social, educational, economic and cultural programs and organizations for the benefit of Taylor County citizens. “We do that by seeking and accepting donations from current and former residents of Taylor County and from various businesses and organizations that want to help us meet the needs of the community,” Harman said. “The funds are invested to increase their value, with net income from those investments used to distribute our annual grants.”
TCCF operates as a part of YCF, a non-profit charitable organization formed in 2011 by the merger of the Greater Morgantown Community Trust and the Community Foundation of North Central West Virginia. YCF provides administrative and technical support, financial reporting, auditing services and marketing assistance. The TCCF operates with its own Board of Advisors that identifies, cultivates and assists prospective donors who want to contribute to its long-term endowment fund.
“YCF’s mission is to promote philanthropy and build endowment funds to benefit our communities. All donations to the Taylor County Community Fund stay in Taylor County,” said Patty Showers Ryan, President of YCF.
Tax-deductible contributions in any amount can be made to YCF with a memo for the Taylor County Community Funds and mailed to PO Box 409, Morgantown, WV 26507. Online donations are also accepted via PayPal at www.ycfwv.org.
